What are LiftTrax made of?
LiftTrax are made of an inner bladder and an outer reinforced fabric shell, covered with 6mm deep rubber grips.
Won't LiftTrax burst under the weight of an SUV?
No, LiftTrax are made to withstand the weight of all regular SUV's and even fully loaded expedition vehicles. Of course, they must be used in the correct way, as described in the training manual.
I only go off-road once in a while, do I need LiftTrax?
LiftTrax are a useful tool to have especially for those who are not frequent off-roaders. In fact, regular offroaders are less likely to get stuck as they aremore experienced. LiftTrax are small enough though, to keep permanently in your vehicle so that they are there to come to your rescue when you do need them, without the need for tow trucks or other complicated solutions.
How do I know which version of LiftTrax I need for my vehicle?
The LiftTrax 4000 is suitable for vehicles up to 4 tons and the LiftTrax 2500 is suitable for up to vehicles up to 2.5 tons. How do you inflate LiftTrax?
LiftTrax can be inflated using by:
- Using a hand-held pump
- by blowing into the inflation tube
- Using a compressor (available in most 4x4 vehicles)
Can LiftTrax be used as a replacement for a jack?
No. Although LiftTrax are capable of lifting your vehicle they are not a replacement for a jack and should not be used as one. Safety precautions should always be adhered to as per the Instruction manual.
Do LiftTrax come with a Warranty?
Yes, all LiftTrax come with a five year Warranty.
In which recovery situations could LiftTrax be used?
LiftTrax can be used for crossing ditches, climbing steps , high center (vehicle beached on belly), wheel articulation, mud or sand. There are however particular conditions in which LiftTrax should not be used or would simply not be of any use. Deep ponds are one example and side slopes are another. See the Instruction manual for details.
If LiftTrax were to puncture, would it be rendered useless?
No. Firstly, due to their durable exterior shell, punctured LiftTrax are a very rare event. If it did happen though, the replaceable inner badder can be replaced in minutes on site.
What is the working air pressure in LiftTrax?
LiftTrax provide mobility and recovery with very low pressure.
The inflation pressure is of about 1 PSI, increasing to around 5 PSI when holding being crossed by a vehicle.
The maximum working pressure allowed is 10 PSI.
This low operation pressure explains how LiftTrax can be inflated when placed under a vehicle's wheel using only a hand-held pump.
